Quantum science and technology in super-semi hybrid quantum devices
○ 문의처: 물리학과 행정팀 (T.054-279-3711)
Recent advances in optics, electronics, and materials engineering have enabled successful demonstrations of artificial quantum systems. These systems allow the exploration of various quantum phenomena with potential applications across multiple quantum technologies. This talk will discuss quantum science and technology in artificial solid-state quantum systems, specifically realized with gate-defined semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) and superconductors. Starting with a brief introduction to the electronic spin states in gate-defined QDs, I will focus on superconductor-semiconductor hybrid quantum devices. In particular, semiconductor QDs embedded in a superconducting cavity can interact with the microwave photons in the cavity, facilitating coherent link between remote QD spins, and enabling applications in quantum optics and simulations. The talk will highlight the demonstration of strong hole charge-photon coupling exploiting a high-impedance Josephson junction array cavity, and high-efficiency microwave photon detection achieved in the near ultra-strong charge-photon coupling limit. I will also briefly show QDs directly coupled to superconducting contacts, which offer intriguing avenues for exploring Andreev physics and realizing novel quantum device architectures. The final part of the talk will outline the outlook for solid-state quantum devices, focusing on the potential phenomena and applications that can be explored within these hybrid architectures.
