Department of physics
The Department of Physics at POSTECH, Pohang, Korea invites applications
for a number of research professors or postdoctoral research associates
starting as early as possible.
The joint appointments with Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics
(APCTP)
are available for those who apply after a review.
The fields of utmost interest sought include:
1) Condensed matter physics : Theory and experiments
2) Nanofunctional New Materials : Theory and experiments
3) Next generation beam/light source : Theory and experiments
4) Biophysics and complex systems/High Energy : Theory

for more information about the areas of research interests for these
institutions and the BK21 faculty to work with primarily.
The monthly salary is 2.5M Won (about 2,500 USD) for research professors
and 2.0M Won (about 2,000 USD) for postdoctoral research associates.
The salary for research professors can be negotiated
for candidates with proper qualification.
The research professor positions are initially for two years
and postdoctoral positions are for one year, which are renewable
depending on the performance and availability of the Brain Korea 21 funding
supported by the Korean government.
Joint appointments with APCTP will receive additional
benefits and bear some responsibilities as members
of the extended research groups involving both APCTP
and POSTECH physics faculty.
