Time and space are the fundamental frames by which material, such as visual world, exists. While visual world consists of spatiotemporal events, it has been a mystery how temporal information is encoded in the visual cortex. In this talk, I will present the results obtained from the experiments where we examined the possibility that the monkey primary visual cortex (V1) encodes spatiotemporal sequence of local stimulus orientation.
